When I watch broadcast television [may God help me] the most obvious thing is the incredible amount of time networks and local television use for commercials.  Yes, commercials, that interruption that wouldn’t be so damned difficult to handle if it didn’t occupy over 20 minutes out of every hour.

I am old enough to remember when TV commercials ran 30 or 60 seconds.  You knew that when a program went for a commercial break you had about 2 minutes.  That was enough time to get up, answer nature’s call, grab a cold soft drink from the fridge, and get back in time for the show to resume.

Nowadays you can get up, go to the bathroom, brush your teeth, make a cold cut sandwich and grab a cold drink from the fridge.  As you walk casually back to the living room some infomercial or network promotion is still running.

When the go to a PSA for either children’s hospitals or animal rights and protection organizations you can be sure there’s damn near enough time to mow the lawn while you wait.  The surprising fact is that, as long as these PSAs are, they are aired for free.

The federal government mandates so many minutes a year to be used for public service but broadcast television more than fulfills even the most egregious requests of government.  Maybe they just can’t sell enough air time for commercials to make up the room so they grab a PSA and run it instead.

Okay, maybe it’s not just the ads.  But it is the public service announcements [PSAs] that make me crazy.  The length of the PSA and its content often make for the most grueling experience since water-boarding.

I turn on the TV [silly me] and there it is, a 4-minute PSA for Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.  Those 4 minutes seem to take 40 as they shamelessly parade an unending procession of crippled, maimed, disfigured, and acutely afflicted children.  The children’s plights are designed to tug at your heartstrings.  The makeup of the ad eventually centers on a little boy, a spokeschild.

The one that is like fingernails on a chalkboard is an arrogant little bastard [can such a young child be arrogant?] with blonde hair who sits in a wheelchair or goes over his history of surgeries.  Rather than tugging at my heartstrings it tugs at my brain and makes me want to punch him straight in the face.  It really does.

As this little ham-in-a-wheelchair hogs every possible camera opportunity as he speaks in a squeaky chipmunk voice that can only be understood by playing the tape at ½ speed with an addition of bass to his voice.  Not only is he unintelligible, but it’s that fingers on the chalkboard thing that makes him a horrible choice for spokes-child.

For the longest time this hospital used a dark-haired little boy, an excellent choice for a spokes-child.

He is articulate, well spoken, and seems a humble but brave child.  His story is inspirational.

His presence makes you want to hear what he has to say and even makes that 4-minutes seem more like the 4 that they are.  He is so unlike the blonde boy who is an affliction on unsuspecting viewers.

Okay, so the Shriner’s folks really need a new advertising agency, that’s clear.  I doubt they realize how many people they alienate with their “infomercials”.  And it’s not just the infomercials themselves, but how often they hit you with them.

It seems obvious television is having a hell of a time selling air time because they pepper the hour with not just 1 or 2 but as many as 4 public service announcements from such as Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Hospital, ASPCA, and an array of interminable PSAs as various charities tug at your heartstrings and pull at your purse strings.

When I watch the St. Jude PSAs, I’m not nearly as put off as I am with Shriner’s because they take a kinder and gentler approach to asking for support.  Their own brand of begging doesn’t annoy me nearly as much as the horribly scripted Shriner’s spots.

When I watch ASPCA propaganda it makes my stomach not only turn but do summersaults.  Here they have an endless parade of shivering, starving, dirty, maimed and neglected mongrels.  Dog after dog shows its face in a pathetic pose meant to separate you from your wallet.

They carefully pose dogs beside empty food dishes or behind a chain link fence.  Some famous or ‘once-famous’ person appears on the screen and begs you to “save a life” and to “rescue an animal” and that makes me crazy because …

These animals you see on television have more than likely been euthanized long before you see them on the small screen.  They tell you that your monthly contribution will “rescue” these poor animals.  But their definition of “rescue” isn’t necessarily your definition of “rescue.”

To “rescue” an animal they bathe it, medicate it, and provide for safe shelter and good food for the unfortunate animal.  This much is true.  Unfortunately the ASPCA is not a “No Kill” shelter and most of these animals are slaughtered only days or at most weeks from being “rescued.”

The ASPCA ads are often so bad and so long [another 4 minute foray into distasteful dishonesty] I wonder if they aren’t trying to euthanize me.

Summing it up:  The birth of the “infomercial” has dealt yet another death blow to broadcast television.  Whether it be for a new model vacuum cleaner or simply begging for money, these infomercials have become an interminable part of an even more interminable broadcast television environment.

Television stations and networks don’t charge these non-profit organizations for airing these PSAs.  In fact they are filling required time as established by the FCC.  However, these PSAs are given far more time than the federal government requires.

A lot more!  It can only mean that they are having one hell of a time selling commercial airtime.

Sell your infomercials to the lawyers, drug companies, automakers, and the like.  They’re really expensive but many businesses feel they are a good investment.  All I ask is, “PLEASE SPARE ME THE 4-MINUTE PSAs.”

Your Harley Davidson owners love to put loud pipes on their bikes.  They annoy pretty much anyone else with no consideration for anyone.  The myth that loud pipes save lives has been debunked by myriad government agencies including the Department of Transportation.

When I see a motorcycle rider put ear plugs in their ears before pulling away it makes me want to toss a pipe into their front wheel!  It is the height of rudeness and inconsideration to ride a bike that is too loud for you!

If it’s too loud for you … it’s too loud for me!

 Wake up.  Grow up.  It’s not any safer.  It annoys many folks and is hard on the ears.

Major population centers have taken control over the electoral votes in presidential elections.  It sucks that California has more votes than 11 other states combined!  When you talk about ‘the tyranny of the masses’ you’ve got it right.

A “One-State / One Vote” Electoral College would do away with the dictatorial domination of the more populous states.  It would give the same power to a voter in Alaska as one in New York.  Wouldn’t that be nice?

Living in Idaho it’s difficult to feel that my vote matters at all.  “Famous Potatoes” has nothing to do with the presidential election.  At least it’s easy to see that when Portland, Oregon has more political clout than the whole of Idaho!

With millions of people ‘gaming the system’ we’ve got a problem that’s not getting any better!

Scammers come in all shapes and sizes, and there are none more common or irksome as ‘fake service dog’ scammers.  These are the scumbags who take their dogs literally everywhere they possibly can.  And when challenged or questioned they say, “It’s a service animal.” even though it’s not.

Most of these scammers are ignorant of the harm they are doing in continuing their fraud.  They don’t understand that it allows non-service animals’ behaviour to sully the image of true service animals.  A recent case, although minor, is representative of the extent of fake service dogs in our system.  The story appears in the New York Post and about an airline passenger who was bumped from his 1^st class seat to accommodate a likely fake service dog.

I say, “a likely fake …” because, when cornered, a dog owner can claim service animal status, and that’s where it ends.  Airline employees are scared to death that for even questioning the dog’s status, this canine-loving piece of dog shit might sue them in court.  The definition of ‘service animal’ in the ADA is relatively vague and doesn’t allow for positive I.D. of such well-trained and valuable animals.

With a national register we can tell right away if an animal is truly ‘trained and coupled’ with its owner.  Remember that service dogs and their owners are both trained in order to produce the symbiotic relationship necessary for the ‘real deal’.

From supermarkets to restaurants and even medical clinics you’ll see Cynophiliac dog owners leading their mutts around with fake service animal jackets.  Most of these fraudsters have become so emboldened that they don’t even bother with the jacket.  They practically dare anyone to question or challenge the authenticity of their claim.

I once witnessed a dog fight in a big box store between a pit bull terrier and a mid-sized mutt.  They went at it and blood and shit flew everywhere.  Patrons were scared to death and kept their distance.  Knowing the store manager’s misplaced love of dogs, his employees have been warned not to approach anyone bringing an animal into his store.  

This flies in the face of corporate policy, even if it’s clear their mutt’s not a service animal.

It’s America’s clear and present obsession with dogs that keeps this registry from being established.  It’s Americans’ sick devotion to ‘Fido’ that keeps a service animal registry from happening.  It’s Americans’ willingness to take unfair advantage through fraud that may doom forever the chances of establishing such a badly needed department of government.

This is a small state known for “Famous Potatoes” and a shameless liar of a governor.

Understand that in a state hardly known for their blinding intellect or innovative nature, a “Boss Hog” governor rules with an iron hand.  The occasional “Bread and Circus” of bills are what he feeds the ignorant [almost all of Idaho’s voters] to keep order.

With a state sales tax of 6% on groceries and medications, this state revels in the income generated from this most onerous of taxes.  Here’s the rub: Governor Brad Little promised to eliminate this tax once elected in 2018.  Of course, he didn’t even think about it except when questioned by the press.

Idaho’s press, like their legislature and supreme court are scared spitless.  This governor will do whatever it takes to protect the party and the extremely wealthy such as the Simplot family and their heavy industrial hand in the state.  When asked why he hasn’t even broached the subject of a sales tax he says, “Leave governance to the professionals.”  This is about as ‘nose-in-the-air’ as anyone can get without getting beaten down.

The food tax isn’t the only problem, but is symptomatic of the iron grip the Idaho Republican Party and their stooge, Brad Little, hold on the people and place of Idaho.  Idaho is safe, there is very little street crime.  The air is clean and the water is pure.  There is order.  The same could be said for Hitler Germany or Mussolini Italy.

When we wish one another a Merry Christmas, it’s a traditional and heartfelt greeting and wish.  This is how it has been since before the United States of America even became the United States of America.  It’s a fact that our land is a Christian land.

Many will erroneously speak of the Judeo-Christian values of this land but they are, as I said, in error.  America was founded on the Bible, not the Torah or the Talmud.  From the settlers on Plymouth Rock to this very day it’s The Bible that steers us through our day to day and year to year existence.

Our incoming president will be sworn into office with his hand on The Bible.  Witnesses sworn in to court proceedings more often than not do so on The Bible.  Our very lifestyle and laws are based on the Bible.

Today, in order to avoid possibly offending anyone, many Americans have resorted to the hollow greeting of “Happy Holidays.”  Remember that the extreme majority of Americans are not Muslim, Jewish or Jehovah Witnesses.  We are Christians in a nation built on Christianity.

If I were to wish you “Happy Holidays” this is no grounds for you to fly off the handle and go into some idiotic diatribe regarding the evil of what I just said.  Those are the words of a non-thinking fanatic.  In fact, when one wishes me “Happy Holidays” I in turn wish them “Merry Christmas” with a smile and perhaps a tip of the hat.

We live in an incredibly thin-skinned and easily triggered land.  Americans by and large are overly sensitive to a variety of things that shouldn’t even raise an eyebrow.  The Kevins and Karens out there are looking for something to bitch about, and more is the shame.

Me?  I always wish a “Merry Christmas” and understand that if someone is offended by this that’s just too damn bad.  I am a Christian.  My country is Christian.  Our entire society has been formed around The Bible.  And that’s all there is to it.

Revenge Obsession is about to sprout new legs with the Trump victory.

In 2017 Donald Trump won an election against Democrat Queen Hillary Clinton.  It was a hotly contested victory because Donald Trump won the Electoral vote while Hillary won the popular vote.  Her problem, and that of all Democrats, is that the Electoral Vote means all and the popular vote is just a sidebar.

During the next four years Democrats went full tilt into a psychological disorder known as ‘Revenge Obsession’.  They could only think of destroying Donald Trump as a goal worthwhile.  Their blistering and mostly nonsensical attacks on Donald Trump ranged from paperwork errors to rape accusations and many other things so idiotic and numerous as to make even an idiot blush.

Here we sit on the threshold of another Donald Trump presidency, punctuated by four years of Joseph Biden as president, and the revenge obsession has already begun to take hold.  The Democrats are behaving as one might expect but now they have a situation NOT like before.

Donald Trump won the popular and electoral votes in a landslide, indicative of America’s mandate to toss bumbling Biden out while they still had a country.  Trump has won the hearts and minds of most people in America, but of course not of Democrats.

Watch this next four years repeat the first four as Democrats wind up to make life as miserable as possible for the president … just as they have done in the past.  Yes, history doesn’t exactly repeat itself but it certainly rhymes.

With a Supermajority government and well picked cabinet Donald Trump is bound to fix a lot of what’s wrong with this country and rest assured, the Democrats will decry everything from his decisions to his haircut.

China is gathering intelligence in our country.

Not too long ago we saw Chinese high altitude spy balloons gathering intelligence over our most sensitive military and scientific sites.  The balloons had been doing this for untold years under the Biden administration and with apparent impunity.  Isolated sources claim the Biden administration had ordered the Air Force to ignore the balloons and leave them unmolested.  It was only when the press made a big deal out of it that the Air Force began shooting them down and China stopped sending them here.

Bring in the drones.  Now there are spy drones, some as large as an SUV or a small bus, appearing over our major cities and military installations.  From Bismarck North Dakota to Washington D.C., these drones are popping up everywhere and the largely Communist press is making little of it.

Here’s the problem: China’s 5^th Column is actively assembling and launching these drones in key locations across the United States.  The data they gather is sent to China over the internet and is so detailed as to be more than a little bit frightening.

My source in Beijing says, “We began the drone force operations in 2022 and it has proven very successful so far.  We know where electricity substations, generators, and data management facilities are located and are also aware of America’s domestic military presence.

From local police to National Guard to military reserve units and professional installations we have a solid base of intelligence information.  When the time comes for war, and that time is nearer than you think, we will have sufficient data as to be able to disable America’s power grid and critical infrastructure.  Your military bases are equally vulnerable thanks to your government’s reluctance to address our drone force and growing 5^th Column.”

What he says is true, and we are handing the keys to the city over to the Chinese through inaction and outright support of their intelligence gathering operations.  We need to address this before it’s too late, if it’s not already.

Keep in mind that gathering critical intelligence from multiple sources including drones, the Chinese 5^th Column is poised and ready to strike.  Are you ready for an “October Surprise” in your own back yard?  It’s time for the new administration, the minute Donald Trump is sworn in as president, to strike back with all the powers at our disposal.

Gone are the days when men were really ‘men’ in every sense of the word.  They didn’t say, “Ms.” or “Person” or any of those other idiotic politically correct terms of lunacy.  Men said what they thought and rarely couched opinions.  It’s men of opinion, character, and courage who built the western world.

 In this replay I explore the various ‘effeminizations’ as men have their hair permed, nails buffed, mud baths, and an assortment of other ‘sissy’ things.

As transgender and homosexual agendas affirm, manhood takes a serious hit.  Men in the west are mere shadows of their forbears.  It’s sad but true.  If you don’t agree, that’s okay.  “Hey, guys, your mascara is running and your slip is showing.”

 If you’re like me or any one of the many millions of ‘real men’ in this country, this makes you sick.  It makes me sick to my stomach and I have nothing but contempt for these ‘girly men’ and sexual deviants such as homosexuals and transsexuals.

We have no need for fairies, poofs, f@gs, homos, back door mechanics, guys who like to play in the dirt, fudge packers, etc.

The mind-numbing experience of small-town radio.

I’ve refrained from call-in talk radio for over a year, and today I realized [or was reminded] why.  It’s a mind-numbing experience when you're talking head [show host] is too dull or unwilling to engage in any in-depth conversation.

Maybe it’s the 24 minutes of interruption from ads, public service announcements, traffic and news and other things that break up the hour.  A ‘long’ segment is about 6 minutes so in-depth discussion of any topic will probably require the caller to be ‘held over’ 2 or 3 times.

When the most powerful retort the host can offer is, “Well, that’s your opinion.”  you know you’re in for a frustrating or ‘yawning’ experience.  When the talking head openly invites rude loonies and struggles to maintain a decent vocabulary you know you’ve got small-town talk radio.

It makes my @ss hurt.  Maybe I’ve learned a lesson or two from today’s experience.

Sadly, that’s how it is in a small town.  They’d never get away with this in a major market, or one of even a million people.  It’s a small price to pay for living in a peaceful and safe market.

Tren de Aragua has now put down roots in 18 states.  They are armed, dangerous, and belligerent.  All of these qualities make them an occupying enemy force.  The heavily Mormon state is in for a shock and, according to Moreno, they’re not ready for the carnage to come.

Moreno says, “Our law enforcement people are not ready.  They are not ready yet to face these kinds of gangs in Utah because the way that they do things is totally different than the criminals here in the United States.”

He continued, “That’s why people right now are very afraid. And they don’t want these kinds of people in the United States.”  Utah Gov. Spencer Cox says that Tren de Aragua is “a growing threat” in his state. This vicious gang is allegedly behind a Sept. 22 assault and shooting in Salt Lake City’s Herriman neighborhood.

President Trump has announced plans [Operation Aurora] to oust this gang, but it’ll be easier said than done as tens of thousands of gang members dig in around the country.  From major metropolis such as New York to the tiny towns of Provo, Utah, Tren de Aragua is digging in.

Says city activist David Fernandez, “If we had stopped them at the border this menace would not be in our back yard.  The Biden administration has committed treason in allowing untold numbers of criminals, gang members, killers and drug traffickers to do what they’re doing.”

Well Mr. Fernandez, you are right.  Unfortunately, they’re already in so let’s hunker down, call in the Marines, and clear those bastards out on a war footing.  The rules of engagement should be as they were in Vietnam.  “If it moves shoot it, if it doesn’t … shoot it.”

Local radio host Kevin Miller and I talk about the governor’s overreach.

We entered with relatively worthless banter until I mentioned Nancy Pelosi’s fat-shaming of the president.  Her hatred for him has been above board all along as she is afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome.  I suggested that if she wants to fat-shame the president perhaps we could ugly-shame her.  She is one ugly wench!

We settled into a discussion of how Brad Little took a ‘royal’ leadership over Idaho during the Covid-19 hysteria.  His edicts and orders killed untold Idahoans as he fell in line with the armies of Anthony Fauci.  He exercised unrighteous dominion as never before seen in Idaho.

HIT: I caught the ball when I mentioned his abuse of power and asked why the legislature and supreme court of Idaho seem to afraid of him.  So afraid were [they still are] that they remained silent while Little ran roughshod over our rights.

He played Idahoans for the fools they are.  Brad Little is unusual in that, despite being a native Idahoan, he has more upstairs in the old brain-box than the potato-picking substandard I.Q. people whom he can con into voting for him come Hell or high water.

I tried to bring the host, Kevin Miller, out of his dark corner where he soft-pedals and never truly debates.  It’s his style and that’s okay, but if you’re looking for a true debate or discussion in any depth, you’ll have to move to a different state.

MISS: I missed the ball when I suggested that Idahoans wouldn’t be amnesiac when it came time for re-election.  I was wrong!  It appears these potato-pickers are truly the drones they are often considered to be.  So blind are they to the world around them and so strong is their loyalty to party over nation that it was a foregone conclusion that Brad Little would be re-elected.

You can’t win ‘em all, and the people of the “Famous Potatoes” state will forever be consigned to the dusty haze of their mediocrity.

Only the very well-healed can buy a house today.

Is it fair?  Is it the product of moral investment?  Or is it the sign of avarice, greed, indifference and immorality?  The fact is that Americans have made their own beds.  They’ve been ‘short-sheeted’ by greedy realtors.  Only the very wealthy or those living within the protective bubble of a family trust continue to prosper.  They are a distinct and small minority who never face price and interest rates as do ‘real’ people; Over 90% of wannabe home buyers.

Long ago most of us considered a house a home.  It was a place where we fulfilled our American Dream of a home, a family, and a car in the garage.  Houses are built to be homes, and that’s how it was not so very long ago.  That was then, this is now!

Americans have come to look upon houses as investment vehicles first, homes a distant 2^nd.  In my area of the country alone domestic real estate has skyrocketed over 375% in just 7 years.  This is NOT what homes are meant to do.

In the lead of America’s villains are the real estate brokers.  They have colluded and conspired to jack home prices as high as is possible and to profit as never before.  Their “screw those worthless home buyers.” attitude prevails.  With listing fees and sales commissions of about 3% apiece a man can make a bundle selling a home for over a half million dollars.

In the past, the problem as realtors viewed it was that there just weren’t enough homes in the rarified atmosphere of half a million dollars or more.  The number of reasonably priced houses greatly outnumbered those of in the ‘upper class’ stratosphere.

Realtors’ goal was to encourage short-term ownership, selling homes as investment-vehicles.  Now that short-term ownership has become ‘the way it is’ their greed has brought them unimaginable success.  In my area of the country, the ‘Famous Potatoes’ State, the typical home changes hands on average every 6 years.

The 6-year change has proven a formula for disaster for most of us because every time the owners sell their homes they want to jack up the price to get as much as they possibly can.  For them their houses have been anything but financial investments.  Repeat this cycle every 6 years and the price of a $150,000 home quickly becomes $620,000.  That’s how we got where we are.

Another disconcerting fact is that while interest rates and home prices have behaved in opposite fashion for decades, that’s no longer the case.  In days past when home prices rose, interest rates fell.  If interest rates went up, real estate prices dropped.  This was a ‘balance of purchase’ that worked only to delay the inevitable.  Today this trend has reversed and as housing prices have risen, so have interest rates.  What you end up with is the “Mommy-Daddy Conundrum.”

Simply put.  Whereas the average home buyer 10 years ago was 31 years old, now the average home buyer is 56 years old.  This is a reflection of the fact that these older people made their money for many decades.  They are able to pay new exorbitant prices for a homes.

Meanwhile young couples just starting out, or new “Mommies and Daddies” cannot possibly afford payments on a house.

An average $600,000 [ain’t that a cryin’ shame?] home purchased at 6.5% fixed rate for 30 years means payments of over $3,750 a month not including taxes and insurance.  Can you sense the insanity?  By the way, good luck finding a home loan at only 6.5%!  A family has to generate an income of no less than $137,000 annually in order to buy a house.  That’s over $11,400 a month!  With both parents working they can each make $68,500 a year.

That’s a lot of money any way you slice it.  That’s an insane amount because when you own a home there are, besides your mortgage, other expenses.

Look at property taxes, homeowner insurance premiums, HOA fees, maintenance costs, furnishing costs, utility costs, and the list goes on and on.  This sucks!

Today’s monthly rents are about 60% of monthly mortgage rates.  But when you rent you can look forward to annual rent increases where you landlord raises and raises until he hears his tenants squeak.

When you eventually move out, and you will, you can kiss all security and damage deposits goodbye because that’s how these bastard landlords work!  If you’re paying these deposits, consider them a ‘fee’ or ‘gift’ because you ain’t seeing that money no more!  You leave with no equity of any kind because it was never really your home.

What this country needs is real estate reform.  Any plan to lower housing costs to reasonable and sane levels is gonna hurt the rich and upper middle income crowd.  It’ll piss off a lot of people.  It’s gotta be done anyway!  Renter’s and buyer’s strikes are just around the corner and that won’t do anybody any good!

Beijing has implemented military conscription.

Over the years since 1987 The People’s Republic of China [CCP] has relaxed their draft selective service system.  While registering for the draft has always been mandatory, tens of millions of young men have failed to do so.  As of last year over 40 million young men in China between the ages of 18 and 30 have not registered for selective service.

The Chinese government has not pursued any cases of ‘failure to register’ in over 38 years, having relied on an all-volunteer professional army.  Of late, however, with China’s slipping economy and rising tensions between provinces and Beijing the CCP has made a surprising move.

Beijing has implemented a new selective service act along these lines:

Military Service Registration in 2025 will begin on January 1, 2025.

It is the honorable and sacred duty of every citizen of the right age [18 – 30yrs] to perform military service and register in accordance with the law.

The Military Service Law of the People’s Republic of China stipulates that the country implement a military service registration system, and every young man is required to perform the obligation of military service registration when he reaches the age of 18.

A male citizen who has reached the age of 17 but not the age of 18 before December 31 of that year may also voluntarily register for military service.

The registration of military service does not mean that it is necessary to perform active service in the army, but that the state registers citizens of the age in accordance with the new law.

Failure to register with selective service will result in disqualification from university education in all colleges and universities in the country.  The same applies to all training schools and other apprenticeship programs both government and private.

Also, failure to register will result in financial penalties applied to the offender’s bank accounts and could eventually result in jail time for the offender.  The amount of jail time is indeterminate and will be addressed on a case by case basis.

Forfeiture of assets, property, and cash is required as punishment for failure to register for selective service.  Also the inability to travel outside the border of his province is imposed.  This includes overseas and other foreign travel as well.

In addition he may not seek employment in any government agency or office or private firms doing business with the government.  Likewise the offender may not legally marry or enter into any contractual obligation while in an ‘unregistered’ state.

When a man reaches the age of 35 he is released from the need to register with selective service.  Until that time, if registered, it is his duty according to law and honor to update critical information should he move to a new place of residence, change employment, or do anything which might be construed as ‘hiding from’ or ‘running away from’ the selective service board.

This is an excerpt taken from the document of declaration issued by Beijing and the People’s Congress on November 29^th, 2024.

I can think of only two reasons for this newly minted law:

1.  The army is not meeting its recruiting goals and in light of their epidemic desertions China’s military may soon be unable to withstand the pressures of desertion, malingering, and mutiny in the ranks.

2.  China is building up for war.  Cries for reunification with Taiwan are stronger than ever.  That’s a scary thought if you think about it.  It might also be as a result of an astoundingly high desertion rate.  In Max Allen’s “Paper Dragon” it is cited that the combined armed forces desertions average between 14 – 16 percent.  That amounts to hundreds of thousands of deserters every year.  In fact, the number of deserters reported in a 2022 report would populate a small city like Boise, Idaho.

It’s impossible to go after deserters because the drain on manpower would cripple the People’s Liberation Army, Navy, Air Force and Missile Division.  It is estimated that it takes 5 men to hunt down and apprehend a single deserter.  Multiply that by 300,000 deserters annually and you’re using up 1.5 million people … it just doesn’t work.  It would require every cook, typist, soldier, etc. in their armed forces just to round up people who don’t want to be in the army.

Perhaps this new conscription law is to keep ranks full amid the mass desertions taking place not only in China, but at Chinese bases and installations worldwide.

China’s economy is in dire straits and with unemployment reaching 23 percent, they are desperate for relief.  China’s treasury is bleeding cash to keep the population from erupting in even worse riots than they currently experience.

China needs a war to get out of the mess they’re in and what better way is there to get into a war than to invade Taiwan or one of the neighboring ‘stan’ countries like Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, etc. etc. etc.  They could even make a play for North Korea or India.  Relations between China and these two nations have deteriorated greatly and continue to fall apart as border disputes become border clashes.  Again, refer to an example of this in the book, “Paper Dragon” by Max Allen.

No doubt about it, we’re in a pickle!  The only nation other than the United States that can enter a world war with hope of surviving is the People’s Republic of China.  What happens in the next few years will depend on leadership in both countries.
