In the papers and on TV we
are now hearing that Mass shooter Robert card tried to buy a 'silencer' in August. He was turned away because of answers to
questions on a form at a local gun dealer.
But here is the rub:

Silencers do not silence ●
Sure, you see these things
screwed onto the end of a gun barrel and then you barely hear it when the gun
is fired. That little "pfft" about as loud as a baby's fart is
all you hear when the weapon is fired.
It's not just stupid, but criminally complicit in the radical
misconceptions that have blanketed the American psyche.
Here are some interesting
facts:
● Silencers lower the noise
level of the weapon, but the noise is still very loud.
● The average unsuppressed
levels, which were some of the loudest results for the pistol calibers, came in
at average of 165-167 dB, while the average suppressed levels came in 21-26
dB lower, ranging from 141-146 dB.
● Results are typical across
the board, whether with pistols or rifles.
A resulting noise level of 141 to 146 dB is still really loud! In fact, while using a noise suppressor on a
weapon it only 'takes off the edge' from
the normally sharp retort.
If you wanna see something
really stupid, watch on television or in movies as an evil killer slips a 'silencer' onto the end of a revolver. Yes! A
revolver where the noise just blows out between the cylinder and the back of
the barrel since the suppressor just slows down the noise at the front, and not
the back!

Understand this; TV and Movies have done an excellent job of telling
you that 'silencers' are only good for keeping
an illegal kill a secret because they are so quiet that the guy sitting in the
seat next to the victim never hears the gunshot! Stupid, stupid,
stupid!
Talk to any gun dealer or
person familiar with weapons and he [or she]
will tell you that the whole myth of 'silencers'
is just that ... a myth!
Okay, so let's look at the Maine mass shooter again.
With a sound suppressor he would have killed just as many people, no
more, because a stinging 140+dB would still have gotten everybody's
attention! Did his failure to procure a
'silencer' save any lives? Nah!
Not really!
Look at the facts before
running around with a head full of fantasy and devoid of the truth.
