A Look at Opioids Pt. 1
Throwing the baby out with the bathwater

By Max Allen

Limiting drug supplies is always a prescription for disaster.
Opioids are painkillers and play a crucial place in a doctor’s ‘war on pain’.

Prescribing drugs is a doctor's job, not that of a bureaucrat.
Many people experience severe and sometimes chronic pain.  Severe pain can, and does, kill.  Pain can induce shock.  Shock can induce death!  Carefully chosen narcotics save lives.

Tylenol and Aspirin have their place, but not with acute pain.  Acute pain often ‘demands’ narcotic pain suppression.  Government and the courts have no place in restricting a physician’s access to these effective and easily managed drugs.

In pursuing our ‘War on Opioids’ lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater.  I’ll have more in my next post.

I’m Max, and that’s the way I see it.
