SAY “NO” TO THE NO-FLY ZONE

Imposing a ‘no-fly’ zone over Ukraine is an act of war

We hear the war drums of the mass media and many in government.  They’re spoiling for a war with Russia, ‘they’ being mostly Democrats but also an increasing number of Republican ‘war hawks’.

Don’t you realize that enforcing a no-fly zone would most certainly involve air combat between Russian and American/NATO forces?  Don’t you understand that the first American casualties of such a thing would bring the American People out in droves, demanding war?  Don’t you see that, as we entered into armed conflict with the Russian Federation, this would boost approval of the Biden Administration and both Democrat-controlled houses?

In times of war or armed conflict, the popularity of government takes a significant boost as Americans ‘rally round the flag’ in support of our country at war with another.  This show of patriotism is largely admirable, but rarely justifiable.  One glaring example was President George W. Bush’s unprovoked, immoral, and even illegal invasion of Iraq.  His approval ratings were in the toilet right up until he ordered the invasion.  Suddenly and predictably his ratings soared as Americans [a large number of them not thinking this through] rallied to support him and the government at all levels.

Today we hear the war drums beating the same tune almost to the half-note.  We see all of the war hawks; none of them ready to personally take up arms and enter the fray.  We hear cries for imposing a ‘no-fly’ zone which means that any Russian aircraft violating Ukraine airspace would be attacked from the ground and the air.  This would surely cause Putin to retaliate and, as things happen, this would surely escalate into outright war.

Ask yourself this question.  Is it worth war to try and stop a corrupt oligarchy from invading another?  I think not.  The invasion of a non-NATO country, one with a long and shining history of corruption and human rights violations, by another corrupt country, does not warrant putting any Americans in harms way.  That’s a fact!
