UNITE IN THE WAR AGAINST SERVICE DOG FRAUD!

 THE MAX ALLEN REPORT

SERVICE DOG FRAUD HURTS US ALL

The most vulnerable suffer at the hands of these fraudsters.

As people mock the very spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act [ADA] they twist the knife in the wound they create as they jump through the loopholes of Service Animal regulation.  Because there is no definitive and applicable set of rules determining which dogs are and are not service animals, the room for fraud is wide and gaping.

People take their mutts into supermarkets, grocery stores, even restaurants as they continue to abuse and 'game' the system.  It's sad that these @ssholes haven't thought this through when it comes to hurting those most vulnerable under the system.

Use of any mutt and calling it a service animal only stains the legitimacy of 'real' service animals and their owners.  Service dogs are carefully trained to perform an act that warns their masters of a particular hazard.  Seeing Eye Dogs for instance alert their owners to curbs, traffic, and obstacles in their way.  Likewise, there are service animals trained to address chemical, allergic, cancerous, and even cardiac threats to their owners.  They are far too valuable to be allowed to lose any credibility as Ms. Smith's Pit Bull, under the disguise of a service dog, bites someone or growls at another in an intimidating way.

Real service animals are not easily distracted, remain very close to their owners, do not bark, and will not respond to minor abuse or other animals.  It is the intensive training which makes these animals so valuable to their owners, as well as financially valuable at an average cost of $35,000 each.

Please do your part by not abusing the system and by not allowing others to do the same.

I'm Max, and that's the way I see it!
