His 'sweetheart' plea bargain may not pass muster.

In the end, it's the trial judge who decides whether to accept a criminal plea bargain nor not.  In this case it would seem that Hunter has reached a real sweetheart deal with prosecutors even ignoring about a half a dozen crimes.  This guy is ready to skate on tax fraud, firearms violation, and a hot of other crime deliberately overlooked in this deal.  It is, in essence, carte blanche for this bastard to walk away from his crimes.
