It’s about damned time! Dateline Mendocino, California – A California restaurant owner has started charging customers a $5 fee if they wear a face mask in his restaurant. He’ll also fine them if they are 'caught bragging' about getting vaccinated.
The owner of Fiddlehead’s Café in Mendocino, California, has put up signs letting customers know that they will incur an additional $5 fee if they are seen wearing a face mask while ordering. The same signs also let customers know that if they are caught bragging about being vaccinated, an additional fee will follow.
Chris Castleman, the cafe's owner, says that proceeds from the ‘mask & brag’ fees will benefit Project Sanctuary, a local organization that supports survivors of domestic abuse. In a couple of weeks time, he said he would name a new charity to benefit from the ‘hysteria fees’.
"I don't think $5 to charity is too much to ask from mask wearing customers who claim to care so much about the community they live in," Castleman said in an email. "It's about time that the proponents of these ineffective government measures start paying for the collateral damage they have collectively caused," he added. Castleman went on to say, "I don't believe in mask wearing."
The state of California still requires masks and will keep the guidelines in place until June 15. Castleman said he plans to leave the sign up for several months because he doesn't believe officials in Mendocino County will rescind their mask mandate when the state does so next month.

Way to go Chris. Other bars and cafés take note. I’m Max, and that’s the way I see it!
