Dateline New York City – Gee, anyone with an IQ larger than their waist size could’ve seen this one coming. Here’s the story: Over 24 cops along with their stuff crammed into an elevator during a move to new digs. Okay, so there’s 24 guys with books, papers, bags, etc. crammed into this elevator … don’t you think they’d look at the ‘maximum load’ sign on the wall? Duh! How much does a gaggle of 2 dozen cops weigh? My answer would be at least 4800 pounds [that’s just under 2 ½ tons folks] and that’s not exactly what this elevator was designed [or allowed] to carry.
I am a supporter of law enforcement and have many friends who are cops and firemen. I realize that we all make mistakes from time to time. I wonder, really wonder, just where these guys’ heads were when they took that step into stupidity that sent them crashing to the bottom of an elevator shaft. Good news, nobody was hurt.

A little common sense goes a long way. I’m Max, and that’s the way I see it!
