The real reason behind holiday-bending cancellations
The Christmas holiday weekend saw thousands of airline flight cancellations nationwide. Initially the airline industry put the blame on the China Originated Virus [the Omicron Variant] but that was only a half-truth. The major airlines would have had you believe that cancellations were to ensure the safety of passengers and crew, but later they shifted gears admitting that hundreds of pilots and flight crew had called in sick.
Blame it on Omicron? Not really. The whole truth is far more revealing. The fact is that continued walk-outs and sick-outs by pilots and flight crews are what’s actually behind the cancellations. Angry and embittered over the Vaccine Mandates, airline employees made a statement just short of an ultimatum over the Christmas weekend. Taking advantage of the media hype over the newest variant of the China Originated Virus they just ‘didn’t show up for work’, taking sick leave.
I spoke with Captain ‘Q’, a pilot for a major air carrier and here’s what he had to say, “We called in sick and the airlines told the public we were all down with the Omicron Variant. The airline[s] are really good at spinning the truth into their own reality. The fact is that, even if we had had a cold, they would have immediately blamed everything on the Covid Virus. Their dishonesty is just one of many reasons we don’t want to work for them anymore.”
The captain’s attitude is a reflection of a burgeoning situation among major air carriers as they continue to crap on their employees, pushing them over the brink of freedom into the abyss of surrender.
The airline industry has one of the most powerful lobbies in Washington and more than enough financial ‘oomph’ to get President Biden to change his tune on his insane and illegal vaccine mandates. Pilots and crew are not stupid, and they realize this. The catastrophic holiday cancellations have sent the airline industry and Washington a message. Let’s hope Biden has enough cognitive faculty remaining to read the writing on the wall.
