BIDEN SABOTAGES ‘STAY IN MEXICO’
Finally proven, the Biden Administration is sabotaging this policy
Joe Biden, in his headlong rush to delete ‘all things Trump’ illegally tore up the ‘Stay in Mexico’ treaty with Mexico. The treaty required anyone seeking entrance to the US to stay in Mexico while being processed through immigration courts. Signing the treaty resulted in over 90% of illegal aliens being stopped at the border. Yes, it actually worked!
Biden [only minutes after being sworn in as president] nixed this treaty in a move that would later be judged illegal by the US Supreme Court. The court ordered Biden to reinstate the treaty. Months later Biden was still dragging his heels and had made no moves to abide by the court order.
Finally, when Biden could no longer delay under threat of contempt of court charges, his new argument was that ‘it was Mexico’s fault’ the treaty wasn’t back in effect. Here Biden found a loophole. He sabotaged the treaty from the other side of the border.
I spoke with Ignatio Martinez, a senior council who had helped negotiate the original ‘Stay in Mexico’ treaty with the Trump administration. He says, “It was not too difficult to arrange with America’s representatives. We agreed to stem illegal immigration and keep those seeking such in return for remuneration to defray the costs of keeping these people here and policing our southern border as well. We agreed on a modest sum of $100 Million dollars annually. This, it was decided, would save the Americans much more money and help us to defray costs incurred by the policy.”
I learned something new in that I was not aware of the financial promise by the Trump administration. In retrospect it seems an entirely reasonable request. America honoured her side of the agreement and Mexico honoured theirs. For a while, all was looking pretty good.
According to Martinez, who also sat in on recent negotiations of the ‘Stay in Mexico’ treaty, there is deception and dishonesty in the Biden approach. He says, “Mr. Biden’s people came to us with impossible demands. Whereas Mr. Trump’s administration would pay us to compensate for costs, Biden’s has turned things around. They are still willing to provide the originally agreed upon $100 Million dollars annually, but require that we maintain the illegal immigrants to a standard comparable to that of the United States.
This means that our costs would balloon. Mister Biden’s people demanded that we provide all of these people with medical and dental care, housing, food, clothing, television and transportation, and education and work opportunities equal to those offered within the United States. We cannot afford to spend such large amounts. There isn’t enough money in all of Mexico to do so.”
Mr. Martinez is right. Biden has taken away any incentive for Mexico to help us with the border invasion. In fact, he has made it utterly impossible. The fact is that the Biden Administration is sabotaging the ‘Stay in Mexico’ treaty shows bad faith toward our neighbours to the south and contempt of our courts in the north.
The only hope of reinstating the ‘Stay in Mexico’ treaty is impeaching Joe Biden.
