SHE NEEDS TO GET A GRIP!

This woman really needs to get a grip on reality.  Here’s the story, as sickening as it is for all concerned:  Dateline, New York – A disabled woman’s emotional support dog was brought to the pound when she had a psychiatric emergency — and when she tried to get the dog back, it’d been placed with new owners and given a new name.

This entire ‘emotional support’ and ‘comfort’ thing regarding dogs is such a bunch of crap!  For God’s sake, there is a faction out there just ready to ‘game the system’ as they bring their dogs everywhere with them claiming them to be ‘service dogs’, which they are not!  Even the ADA [Americans with Disabilities Act] does not recognize these two media-driven and created titles.  Look it up dammit!

Okay, so she was in the hospital and the shelter sent her dog out with new owners, an honest mistake but nothing cataclysmic.  Denise McCurrie, 51 and single, said, “I literally dropped to my knees when I heard this.  Since then it’s been a nightmare!  My response is, “Girl, if this is a nightmare for you, what do you think you’ll be like if you ever get audited!  Get a grip girl.  Get a grip!  It’s a dog, that’s all.  Geez!

IF THIS DROPS YOU TO YOUR KNEES, AN AUDIT MAY BE FATAL!

McCurrie, who’s been on disability since 2008 following the housing market crash, has long suffered from depression and anxiety  On April 16 she called ‘911’ while in the throes of another “nervous breakdown.

She was taken to the hospital for psychiatric evaluation and treatment and the dog was brought to the Manhattan arm of New York’s Animal Care Centre.  McCurrie said she called the Centre many times from the hospital where she was admitted for two weeks of intensive treatment and therapy.  She was calling to tell them where she was and wanted her dog well cared for.  After the usual ‘telephone tag’ she learned her dog had been placed with a rescue group and already had a new name.

A NEW NAME?  OH, HORRORS!  “GET A GRIP GIRL”

---------------------------------------------------------

This woman is one of those Cynophiliacs of whom I often write.  These people place ‘person status’ on their animals and anthropomorphise to an insane extent.  Nicknamed ‘Cynos’, they are often mentally and emotionally disturbed which is why they fall apart when they are away from their dog for very long.

My heart goes out to Ms. McCurrie but really, you’ve gotta pull yourself together girl!

Knock down whatever psychotropic meds your doctor prescribes, as prescribed, get some counselling, and then get another dog.  C’mon, it’s time to grow up!

I’m Max, and that’s the way I see it!
