Bar accepts payment in Monopoly Money
Dateline Worcester, Massachusetts – A local bar announced it will accept Monopoly Money as currency for 2 hours as part of its bid to be included in a localized version of the game. The bar is Ralph’s Tavern of Worcester.
At Ralph’s, arguably the oldest bar in Worcester, your Monopoly Money is good for cover charge, hot dogs, non-alcoholic Jell-O shots, and raffle tickets. That’s not bad for game money! State law forbids accepting Monopoly Money for alcoholic beverages, so you need to pony up some real cash if you want booze.
