WHO CARES WHAT CELEBRITIES THINK?
In a poll, nobody really gives a damn what the wealthy world of celebs thinks.
It’s amazing how celebrities of all sorts seem to think their opinions really matter. Whether it be a basketball player, a rapper, or a television personality these demented little people seem to think the rest of the country values their opinions. It would probably blow them down if they understood just how many Americans really don’t give a damn about what these ‘out of touch’ celebrities think about anything.
A poll was taken by the Stone Institute and they surveyed 6,000 Americans equally across the political, sexual, and religious spectrum. The two questions and responses were:
1. Does the opinion of your favourite actor or athlete influence your own opinions in matters of either politics or religion? Here you go: 79% said, “No. Their opinions are their own.” 11% said, “Yes, their opinions do affect my own opinions.” That left a clean and honest 10% who simply don’t know.
I find this utterly amazing that 11% of Americans actually listen to these wealthy, spoiled, and out of touch celebrities on any matter outside of their actual profession.
2. Does your favourite actor or athlete understand you socially, religiously, or financially? Do you feel that they have an understanding of the population in general? Here you go: 89% said, “No. They are out of touch with the general population in matters of society, religion, and finance.” 8% said, “Yes. They understand the general population in matters of society, religion, and finance.” This left 3% undecided.
These two questions show that Americans, at large, are not quite as gullible as many of us may think. The fact is that 79 to 89 percent of Americans don’t pay any attention to the ramblings and opinions of celebrities on all levels. From sports star to politician to actor or actress, their opinions carry much less weight than they would have you believe.
