WALLY THE WALRUS GETS HIS OWN COUCH
This errant walrus has sunk at least 2 boats, and this couch should stop that.
Dateline Ireland – Animal rescuers said that a walrus which has spent the last few weeks cruising along the country's coast will soon have a "floating couch" to stop him from sinking boats. It seems that ‘Wally’ likes resting on or in floating things to take a little break from swimming. Most convenient have been small fishing boats. Well, when a huge walrus weighing hundreds of pounds lies across the gunnels, guess what happens? Yep, blub blub.
Now, instead of resting in parked boats, he’ll have his very own ‘pontoon couch’ to rest on. Animal rescuers hope this stops Wally from his wanderings and boat sinking behaviour. “The only alternative,” a rescuer said, “is to capture and relocate the walrus.”
