ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING
Another ‘animal on the loose’ story.
Dateline Pendleton County, Kentucky – An Emu is on the loose. Yep another ‘animal on the loose’ story for me to write about.
An Ohio animal shelter is warning area residents to be on the lookout for Elvis the Errant Emu, spotted trotting alongside busy roads. The Pendleton County Animal Shelter said that Elvis was spotted heading west into the woods along side of Kentucky Route 22, and hasn’t been sited since.
Animal shelter folks are warning folks not to try and capture the Emu because, although flightless, they can fight with those huge hooves of theirs. The bird’s owner says, “You don’t want this guy pecking, kicking, or clawing at you because my Emu can do some damage.”
People are urged to call in any sightings, and let the dispatchers at 911 handle it. Since his escape, Elvis the Emu has managed to go not only uncaught, but unseen.

A little like his namesake, “Elvis has left the building.” Hmmm, and Emu out of sight. Maybe he’s writing an insurance policy somewhere. I’m Max, and that’s the way I see it!
UPDATE: If you see the Emu please contact the owner Melissa at 8597390057, dispatch at 8596543300 and or the shelter at 8594725400 with the location of the bird.
