SHINZO ABE BODYGUARDS' SUICIDE

2 of former Prime Minister's security men commit suicide [seppuku]

In the wake of the assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe [shin-zo ah-bay] two members of his failed security detail have killed themselves.  It was reported first over CRI news of China and later confirmed by Ito Yamaha, my source in Tokyo.

The loss of the life of their charge [Shinzo Abe] was too much for the honour-driven men to bear as they met in quiet near the town of Shimoda on the Izu Peninsula.  It was there that they both killed themselves in ritual suicide.  The Japanese are largely a highly honourable people, and this sort of behaviour is not as rare as someone in The West would believe.

I will not comment on the nature of their deaths other than to say, they and their families are in my prayers.  Their names have been withheld in honour to their families.
