SOUTHWEST 'SKY NAZIS' TO BLAME?

Infamous airline shows disregard and disgust of passengers

It’s hard to find anything good in the media when it comes to Southwest Airlines.  This is the airline which led the pack when it came to in-flight violence, disruptions, and totally arrogant attitude on the part of their flight crews.  Nicknamed ‘Sky Nazis’, the crews of this notorious air carrier have gained a well-earned reputation.

Here’s the latest, and some would say most egregious, action of notoriety.  With this airline it seems there are nofriendly skies’.

Dateline Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport – Gaby Assouline, age 24, was refused aid to help her guide her wheelchair down a loading ramp to the plane.  Gaby was [we’ll get into that later] a paraplegic, suffering from a disease that had left her unable to walk.  All she asked for was help getting on the plane.  I guess that was just too much, huh!

The Broward County lawsuit asserts that Gaby, wheelchair bound, was traveling from South Florida to Denver in February when she asked Southwest staff for someone to help her, in her wheelchair, go down the corridor.

The suit contends that a Southwest supervisor at the Airport declined her request telling her she as ‘on her own’ insofar as getting down the nose loader into the plane.  Assouline’s wheelchair hit an irregularity on the floor of the collapsible sky bridge nose loader and she was then “thrown” from the wheelchair landing on her head.  She is now paralyzed from the neck down.

I have flown millions of miles over the decades and can tell you that any other airline I have flown would have jumped at the chance to help a wheelchair passenger down into the plane and would have seated her with a smile.  Hey, Southwest!  What the hell is wrong with you?

I’m Max, and that’s the way I see it!
