The folks at the Guinness World Book of Records have dubbed this the king of honeys. Coming in at over $5,400 per pound, Centauri Honey is officially the world’s most expensive honey. Okay, so why is it so expensive? One might ask.
Answer: It’s so damned rare! This honey is harvested only once a year, as opposed to three times a year by most commercial honey farmers. And, get this; it’s harvested from natural hives in a cave in Turkey, over 8,000 feet above sea level.
A dark coloured and slightly bitter honey, it’s prized for its medicinal value, having high concentrations of magnesium, phenols, potassium, and antioxidants. Click on the link below for more:
