Now here’s a bargain … if you like freezing your butt off! 11 acre Deer Island, up in the Scottish Highlands, is going up for auction with a starting bid of only $111,700. They’re expecting the bidding might go as high as $279,000 but nobody’s holding their breath.
This island has been in the hands of the same family for over 500 years and has never been inhabited by man. Ya gotta ask yourself, “Is there a reason nobody’s ever lived there?” There could be lots of reasons but let me tell you this. I’ve been to the north of Scotland, and it’s C-O-L-D in the autumn, winter, and spring. It’s damned cold!
If you are a born masochist and just love the thought of being completely alone, hours from help, and having to comply with a myriad of Scottish laws to build there … buy it!
