THE FATE OF A FAT CAT!

Dateline Union Gap, Washington State – A lady’s 19-pound cat went missing for 28 days.  Okay, so that’s not really news is it?  But what if I told you this ‘fat cat’, weighing in at over 19 pounds, spent that time stuck in a neighbour’s chimney.  Would that be news?

It’s also good news that the Piper the cat was rescued, taken to the vet, and will recover.  The unfortunate feline lost 8 pounds as she pondered her fate, wedged in the flu of a fireplace.  When a cat weighs that much, gets stuck in a chimney for nearly a month, and survives it’s clear that the huge amounts of body fat are what sustained it.

The homeowner whose chimney housed the fat feline for so long said she heard a meowing in her house and it took a day to home in on the cries of Piper the Petulant, perturbed pussycat, only to find her stuck in the chimney.  Click on the link below:

Caitlyn Wertenberger, Piper’s owner, is grateful for her cat surviving the ordeal.  According to the veterinarian, it’s likely the cat was missing for 28 days, but only spent less than a week in the chimney.  He goes on to say, “Any extended period such as this would cause the cat to die of dehydration in a period of days, not weeks.  I am sure Piper was probably wedged in that chimney for less than a week.”

Good news is always welcome.  I’m Max, and that’s the way I see it!
