“The greatest gift to humanity … is humanity.” – Doel Cam Nai. In today’s world we see a great deal of inhumanity among humanity. As we treat one another with more and more disdain, so it seems we are lavishing our affections on our animals.
Television ads and even talk radio often refer to pets as “pet children”, or “4-legged family members”, either of which displays a terrible misunderstanding of the owner/pet relationship.
God gave us the beasts and animals of this world to subjugate, to own, to enjoy, and to respect. Our stewardship over our pets is one of owner/pet, and not that of ‘parent/child’ as so many have fallen into believing.
It’s unhealthy. It’s wrong. It’s unnatural. Scripture spells out our relationship in the Book of Genesis. Read it. Study it. Pray over it.
No one knows what is next, I am a sage. I am not a prophet. I pray for knowledge and I pray for wisdom. Please pray with me.
