Dateline Ft. Campbell, Kentucky – In a record-setting effort, Army Captain Katie Hernandez set a Guiness World Record for a woman running a mile in a bomb disposal suit. It would seem that running in over 80 pounds of gear is a good idea if you are a bomb disposal technician. It reminds me of the T-Shirt which reads, “Bomb Disposal Tech … If you see me running, try and keep up!”
Her record setting run took only 10 minutes, 23 seconds and only lags the men’s record of Britain Mark Gibbs, who completed his run with a time of 7 minutes, 24 seconds in December 2017.
