Dateline, Plymouth, Connecticut – Well pardners, it seems the free range days of “Buddy the Beefalo” have come to an end.  I guess all good things must come to an end, and it’s nice when it’s a happy one.

After over 8 months of freedom the wandering bovine was finally corralled by cops.  It seems that for well over 250 days, Buddy was just not in the “mood” to be caught.  He liked his freedom, wandering the countryside.  He even managed to gain weight during his bovine sojourn.  Just clippity clopping around, mooing it up, grazing, laying down in the soft grass, and weathering the storms seemed his thing.

Plymouth Police released a statement, “His capture was the result of a community effort from spotting him, feeding him throughout the winter and to the experts who were able to make the final capture.”

Buddy will be transported to Massachusetts for a physical examination and then he’s off to his new permanent home at the Critter Creek Farm Sanctuary in Gainesville, Florida.  There he’ll “be where the buffalo roam” and be truly free and safe.  Good Luck Buddy.
