Dateline, Great Britain – I think of the shortages brought about by the China Virus Hysteria and it makes me cringe. The latest shortage is, of all things, Garden Gnomes. “Oh give me a gnome, making happy the home, where the ivy and gardenias grow. Where seldom’s the need, to pull out a weed, and flowers grow in a row.”
British garden centres are facing a nation wide gnome shortage. The increased demand for these little figures is largely due to Britain’s hysterical regulations restricting movement out of the house for many. When you’ve got to stay home, it’s time to do a little more gardening. And the Brits are doing a lot more gardening. Hence, we have a great gnome shortage across the United Kingdom.
We only appreciate something when we can’t have it. For many Britons, the secret to a happy home is a garden gnome.
